HISTORY

CASA AGRÍCOLA DE COMPOSTELA Estate was founded in the 1960’s by Manuel Gonçalves, a visionary entrepreneur who always fought for the highest standards of excellence. Till this day the winery still remains family owned and operated.

Casa Agricola de Compostela has, in the production of Vinho Verde, its strategic orientation since the beginning of its foundation. The praise from the wine community, rises from the many awards achieved, stimulating a new course from the 40 hectares of vineyards. At that time, apart from varieties that were traditionally cultivated – Loureiro, Trajadura and Arinto, new varieties were introduced such as Alvarinho, Sauvignon and Fernão Pires.

VINHOS VERDES REGION

Inserted in the Green Wine Region, with a total agricultural area of 220 hectares, the Estate is divided into three distinct sectors of agricultural activity.

Vitiviniculture, forage production (hay and corn) and forest. The forest, which occupies the greater part of the total area of the Agricultural House, is populated with hardwood species (eucalyptus) and resinous (pine tree).
